INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATION

Poster Instructions

The poster session is the opportunity to present your work and discuss it directly with other delegates. The display should, therefore, be visually appealing and contain the essence of your abstract (aims, results and conclusion) in a form that is easy to understand.

Diagrams and graphs should have clear captions. All lettering should be easy to read (use at least font 24). All graphs and diagrams should be drawn with thick lines (preferably 1mm or more in width). Use color to emphasize important features.

Instructions for Oral Presentations

Bring your presentation in PowerPoint on a Windows readable USB flash Drive or CD-ROM. When building your presentation, use standard fonts (e.g., Times Roman, Helvetica, Arial, Times New Roman). The slides must to be written in English.

The operating system will be Windows XP Professional, and software will include: Microsoft Office XP, Adobe Acrobat Reader , QuickTime*, Windows Media Player, Flash Player.

* all Quick-Time users should make sure to visit the speaker practice room at least 24 hours in advance, due to additional processing time that may be required.

In the speaker practice room there will be a video projector (e.g. for PowerPoint) available. If you require additional equipment, including Internet access, for your presentation please contact jhenrique@toxo100.org (José Henrique Meireles).

Note: Projection of 2x2 slides and overhead slides are NOT supported unless requested in advance.

We will provide computers in the session room. Speakers should provide their presentations on memory stick or CD-ROM to speaker practice room 24h before the beginning of the sessions.

We recommend that you bring a backup presentation format to cover the possibility of luggage loss, theft, and/or incompatibility.

Selected oral presentations:

Each abstract selected for oral presentation should be 10 minutes long.

Invited speakers

Please ensure your presentation does not run longer than that informed in the program, so we can adhere to the timetable.


Note: All the presentations will have 2.5-3.0 minutes for questions in order to fit in the allocated time slots (see program).
Tip:
If you cannot read your presentation on your laptop screen from 3 m away, then your presentation will not be legible to the audience.
